(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR/News Release Mar. 24)–Lincoln Public Schools announced on Tuesday that Anthony Meints will be the next director of Facilities and Maintenance. Meints currently serves as the district’s facilities management sup ervisor. He has over 33 years of experience working for LPS’ facilities and maintenance department. Meints has been the LPS facilities computer-aided design and geographic information system assistant supervisor since 1999, where he works collaboratively with building and district administrators to coordinate facility support for emergencies, and coordinates district efforts related to community use of school facilities. After eight years, Meints was named the environmental and safety coordinator, a position he held until named facilities management supervisor in 2025. Through the coordinator position, Meints collaborated with district and school administrators along with community first responders to develop safety plans and respond to environmental emergencies. He was also responsible for developing and managing district-wide environmental health and safety programs. Meints will transition into his new position on April 15. ...read more read less
