KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The King William County Sheriff's Office launched a new K-9 program with the first patrol K-9 on Friday to enhance law enforcement, according to officials. The sheriff's office announced the launch of the K-9 program on Friday, March 20, marking what officials des cribe as "a significant step forward in enhancing public safety and law enforcement capabilities throughout the county." The program's first patrol K-9, Aja, and her handler, Deputy M. Cox, have completed extensive training and will reportedly assist in a variety of law enforcement operations, including tracking and narcotics detection, per a release. “The launch of our K9 program represents our continued commitment to public safety and innovation in law enforcement,” said Deputy M.R.
