COLUMBUS, Ohio. (WISH) — Notre Dame women’s basketball took down Ohio State, 83-73, to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. The Fighting Irish, a No. 6 seed, upset the Buckeyes, a No. 3 seed. This is Notre Dame’s fifth straight year in the Sweet 16. Hannah Hidalgo led t he Fighting Irish with 26 points. She had a double-double, hauling in 13 rebounds as well. Notre Dame shot 44% from the field and 40% from three. The Fighting Irish forced 21 Ohio State turnovers. Notre Dame will play the winner of No. 2 seed Vanderbilt and No. 7 seed Illinois in the Sweet 16 in Fort Worth, Texas. ...read more read less
