CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. – A suspect, accused of firing a shot in the direction of a Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office deputy, is now in custody. The arrest comes after an hours-long standoff with 29-year-old Jonathan McCaskill. Investigators say McCaskill fired the shot after a deputy re sponded to a call on Crawley Road in the Town of Patrick Friday night. He then barricaded himself inside of a home. “There is no excuse for this type of dangerous behavior,” said Sheriff Cambo Streater. “I’m thankful our deputies handled this situation with professionalism and that no one was injured.” McCaskill is facing several charges.
