A toddler is safe after being inside a car that was stolen in West Philadelphia late Saturday morning, police said. The incident unfolded shortly before noon when a suspect stole a car that was parked but still running on the 4000 block of Lancaster Avenue. A 1-year-old child was inside the car a t the time. Responding police officers located the vehicle and the child inside of it along the 600 block of North Brooklyn Street, less than half a mile away from where the car was stolen. Medics evaluated the toddler and determined the child was not hurt. No arrests have been announced. Police have not released information on any suspects.
