Viral Taco Bell Cantina 5K set to take over San Francisco
Mar 20, 2026
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) - If you've ever participated in a 5K and thought, "this experience would be a lot better with a stomach full of Taco Bell," you’re in luck. A San Francisco event is combining both of those things, and it's happening this Sunday, March 22.
The now viral Taco Bell Cantina 5K i
s set to be a "Baja Blast" for the hundreds of people who are expected to attend. The run starts at the Taco Bell Cantina near Oracle Park and ends at the Fisherman’s Wharf location, which opened earlier this year.
The event was posted on Partiful, an event planning app, and quickly gained the attention of over 1,000 Taco Bell lovers and even some restaurant executives.
“I thought it had some potential to be fun, but I never expected it to be this number…The response has been crazy," says Adam, the event organizer. Adam says he’s been working with Taco Bell Cantina management to help host a ‘special treat’ for runners at the end of the event.

“We are going to do things safely and release groups of runners in bunches as to not cause a stampede," Adam says, adding “There is no price for finishing first. This is not a race “.
The event is free and described as a "volunteer-organized community fun run." According to the Partiful, all ages and abilities are welcome.
Runners take their mark at around 6 p.m. Sunday, and while it’s not encouraged to load up on burrito supremes before the run, chowing down on some lighter menu options is to be expected.
“Taco Bell Cantina is an awesome brand. It’s very vibey and we’re so grateful to have them hosting us at the end of our run," Adam says.
