The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 2:08 a.m. on Saturday for fog until 7 a.m. for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Schuyler, Tompkins and Cortland counties."Moist conditions will allow areas of fog to persist early this morning, mainly at higher elevations. Be prepared f or rapid fluctuations in visibility. Also, temperatures will drop to near freezing. Exposed wet surfaces, such as bridges, may contain patchy ice.
