IU football’s national championship trophy going on statewide tour

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — IU football’s national championship trophy is going on a statewide tour.
IU athletics announced on Friday that the trophy is hitting the road in March and April.
Here is the full list of the stops the national championship trophy will make:
March 24 – R
ichmond, Indiana (IU East)
March 31 – Gary, Indiana (IU Northwest)
April 2 – South Bend, Indiana (IU South Bend)
April 7 – Kokomo, Indiana (IU Kokomo)
April 9 – Indianapolis, Indiana (IU Indianapolis)
April 13 – Evansville, Indiana (Old National Events Plaza)
April 14 – Fort Wayne, Indiana (Mirro Event and Conference Center)
April 15 – New Albany, Indiana (IU Southeast)
April 21 – Columbus, Indiana (IU Columbus)
The tour is free to attend and will also include the Big Ten Championship trophy, the Rose Bowl trophy, and the Peach Bowl trophy.
“From Indianapolis to Pasadena to Atlanta to Miami, Hoosier fans fueled our championship run by turning out in enormous numbers at each of our postseason games,” IU athletic director Scott Dolson said in a news release. “They transformed neutral site games into virtual home games, and had a big impact on making these championships possible. We’re excited to give Hoosier fans from every corner of the state a chance to see the trophies in person this spring.”
IU beat Miami in the national championship on January 19 to complete an unbeaten, 16-0 season.
