Historic Speakeasy, Bar 414 at Gunter Hotel, Offers Live Music Lineup with New Bar Bites       WHAT:  The Historic Speakeasy at Gunter Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, continues its celebration of San Antonio’s rich musical heritage this March with the next installment of its Live Music Residency Series at Bar 414, the intimate speakeasy hidden behind a gallery wall. The series returns with a new lineup of jazz and blues artists performing every Thursday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. These events are FREE for Bar 414 patrons and can be enjoyed with the speakeasy’s new menu of elevated bites available from open to close, including Truffle Pomme Frites, curated charcuterie boards, and more.         Named for the room where blues legend Robert Johnson recorded in 1936 and included in Historic Hotels of America’s Top 25 Most Historic Speakeasies for 2025, Bar 414 honors the hotel’s storied past with vintage décor, a curated cocktail menu and a moody, welcoming atmosphere. Upcoming artists include:       Chavela is a soulful San Antonio singer-songwriter and bandleader rooted in the city’s rich musical traditions. Fronted by Isabel “Isa” Paillao, she blends elements of soul, neo-soul, RB, Americana and Tejano into an original sound shaped by local influences and vintage vibes. Since forming in 2018, Chavela has become a standout voice in the Alamo City scene, earning acclaim for her emotive vocals, heartfelt songwriting and dynamic live performances — including her self-titled debut album released in 2025.       Aaron Prado is a San Antonio–based jazz pianist and composer whose trio blends original music with classic jazz repertoire. An active performer throughout South Texas, Prado brings a modern, swinging sensibility rooted in the jazz tradition. He released two albums in 2019, including “Live at Jazz, TX” and the trio recording “And Now…”.         Faith Evangeline is a San Antonio native whose jazz vocals channel the spirit of early jazz while maintaining a modern sensibility. A longtime collaborator with the Dirty River Jazz Band, she is also deeply involved in Operation Meatball, a nonprofit honoring veterans and connecting generations through music and history.       The Dirty River Jazz Band is a traditional jazz ensemble based in San Antonio, known for its energetic performances and deep respect for early jazz masters such as Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Fats Waller. The band has performed at events and venues across Texas and beyond, helping usher traditional jazz into a new era.         WHEN: Aaron Prado Jazz Trio: Thursday, March 5, 19, and 26   The Dirty River Jazz Band: Friday, 13, 20, and 27   Faith Evangeline Friends: Friday, March 6 Thursday, March 12   Chavela: Saturday, March 7, 14, 21, and 28       WHERE: Bar 414 at The Gunter Hotel 205 East Houston Street, San Antonio, TX 78205         MORE: For more information about Bar 414 and upcoming performances, follow the hotel on Instagram and Facebook.
