An evening of art, community, and compassion will take center stage later this month as Free to Live Animal Sanctuary hosts a fundraising art show and auction to support hundreds of animals in its care. The event is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center. Proceeds from the auction will go directly toward providing food, shelter, and medical care for nearly 300 dogs and cats living at the sanctuary. Located in north Edmond, Free to Live has spent more than four decades caring for Oklahoma’s stray, abandoned, and mistreated animals. While the organization facilitates hundreds of adoptions each year, more than 100 cats and dogs remain permanent residents due to age, health issues, or special needs. “Our state has reached a crisis point with the number of homeless dogs and cats,” said Executive Director Reagan Hamlin. “These animals rely on our care, and community support is critical to meeting their needs.” As a nonprofit, Free to Live is entirely donation-funded, with expenses continuing to grow alongside the number of animals it serves. The upcoming art show will feature works from local artists alongside unique pieces created by some of the sanctuary’s own dogs and cats. Items up for auction will range from jewelry to furniture, with all proceeds benefiting the animals. Admission to the event is free, and guests can enjoy complimentary wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres while browsing the collection. https://freetoliveok.org/artauction/Those interested in attending or learning more can visit freetoliveok.org/artauction.
