Oklahoma City’s premier culinary celebration, Taste of OKC, is set to return May 30 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, bringing together some of the city’s top chefs, community leaders, and philanthropists for an evening that blends fine dining with a meaningful cause. The annual event will be led by co-chairs Derrick Ott and the Taylors, alongside honorary chair Joe Ford, as they rally support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma. The organization focuses on creating life-changing mentoring relationships that help young people build confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of possibility for their futures. Taste of OKC highlights the diversity and creativity of the city’s growing food scene. Guests can expect a wide range of offerings—from elevated fine dining to inventive contemporary cuisine—paired with fine wines and an energetic atmosphere. The evening will also feature live music from local performers, along with both live and silent auctions showcasing luxury experiences, exclusive items, and one-of-a-kind opportunities. Proceeds from the event directly support mentoring programs that connect volunteer “Bigs” with youth “Littles,” providing guidance, encouragement, and stability for children who need it most. For co-chair Derrick Ott, the event’s impact goes beyond the plate. He sees hospitality as a powerful force for connection, noting that everyone deserves both a seat at the table and a mentor in their life. The Taylors, also serving as co-chairs, bring a strong philanthropic focus centered on children’s causes. Their commitment reflects a shared belief that young people deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported, with access to safe and empowering environments where they can thrive. Whether attending for the culinary experience, the entertainment, or the cause itself, Taste of OKC aims to deliver an evening that engages the senses while strengthening the community. Sponsorship opportunities are available and can be tailored to fit a variety of organizations. For more information, visit tasteofokc.org or learn more about the mission at bigoklahoma.org.
