Arrest made in fatal San Jose cold case stabbing

(KRON) -- Police in San Jose announced Wednesday that they have made an arrest in connection to a 2019 cold case homicide investigation. The suspect, now 22 years old, was a teenager at the time of the deadly stabbing.
A man was stabbed at least once during a fight involving three suspects on the n
ight of Oct. 6, 2019, in the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital where he died.
The three suspects “were last seen running westbound on Alum Rock Avenue over the Highway 101 overpass,” SJPD said. Detectives at the time were unable to identify any of the suspects and the case went cold.

Recently, police said the cold case was reopened and authorities sought the public’s help in finding the killer. Detectives identified a 22-year-old San Jose man as the primary suspect in the deadly stabbing and arrested him on March 4.
Police released few details about the suspect due to his age at the time of the homicide. He would have been 15 or 16 years old when he allegedly stabbed the victim.
The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for a charge of murder.
