(Photo courtesy of KRON4+) On teaming up with former rival Ethan Page "Look at us. It's me and Ethan Page teaming up — like, 'Let's be for real.' Okay, there's obviously a plan at play here. I need to become the two-time NXT champion and run the play. That's all we got to do is run the play. Things happen. We got to pivot. That's all right; we're cool, but we got to run the play to get to Stand and Deliver, so I can beat Joe Henry and put myself in the Hall of Fame of a person who has become a two-time NXT champion. This is a life lesson for everyone watching. Sometimes you have to forgive, but you never forget, alright? And when money is in play, when a plan is in play, I'm willing to forget some things, so to speak. Okay, alright, let me just say that definitely contradicted what I just said. But that's alright. The point is, me, Ethan, we are good for right now, right now." On blessing a fan in the crowd "That was spontaneous. I don't like to plan a lot. That lady was there, she had that sign, and I definitely gave her a blessing of and I look at it, she's successful. She went on, she got a promotion at her job. She's driving a new car. She just bought a house, her mortgage is low, so she's doing good." On his first WWE Elite Defining Moments action figure "I haven't seen it in person. I've seen the pictures, and it is so detailed, from the jacket to the boots to the title itself, I'm very surprised. Like, that's within a year's time, man. Like, it's kind of crazy." On Randy Orton attacking Cody Rhodes "I'm gonna tell you this: Sometimes it's not a changing of the attitude. It is when we decide to put up certain boundaries that we're tired of people crossing. And I think that's what happened. It happened with me, and that happened with Randy. Doesn't make us bad people; it just makes us people who are tired of being walked over. So, I liked it. I thought it was great. Good for him, you know, good for him." On defining his own legacy "Oh, man, I guess the question would be, what is, 'What is finishing my story?' I think the day that happens that is the culmination of a lot of things that I've really worked for and sacrifice for. I can't tell you when I could only you know, envision what the feeling of it is. But the day that happens, we're gonna have this interview again, and this is gonna be entirely different. You're gonna see a whole different wall, different house with 6,000 bedrooms. You're gonna see titles and plaques all over a big poster, movie poster that I just premiered in. It's gonna be great." On making a future transition to acting "It's so taboo to talk about like, 'Oh, he's a wrestler and he's talking about wanting to go from wrestling to acting.' Yes, for sure, my body won't be able to do this forever. So, for those who hate hearing it, yes, I want to get into acting. Who cares? I loved acting. I loved (CW's) Wild Cards. I loved the whole experience. I thought it was really good, and it really gave me a sense of something that I'm able to do after this. This life is over, and so, you know, the hope is more of that to come. And the network, they love me. They really did. They enjoyed me. They cherished me. All my fans. They said, 'well, Ricky, you did great. You were a natural.' And I say, 'Yeah, can't help it.' I've always said I think I could play a really, really good Gambit. I just need to learn how to throw cards and, you know, shuffle a deck. But, yeah, that's like the top of the list. If I can get Gambit, it's a wrap or Blade. Imagine me as Blade. I think I look good in leather." On meeting a wrestling idol "In order of my favorite wrestlers, it goes Undertaker, The Rock and Mankind. Those are my three. I met the Undertaker several times. He's awesome, giving me so many gems of advice and knowledge that he's dropped on me. It's wild. It's wild to see every time I see him at the PC or at some of these shows that we go up and greet each other and, you know, catch up a little bit. But yeah, it's insane, like watching as a kid and now being on the same show, being a part of the same company with him, is wild. On WrestleMania 42 returning to Las Vegas "I'm definitely looking forward to [CM] Punk and Roman [Reigns]. That's going to be a great match. You have Cody [Rhodes] and Randy [Orton]; that's going to be another one. Jade [Cargill] and Rhea [Ripley] is going to be a great match as well. So those are the three that I'm looking forward to, in addition to Stand Deliver. Stand Deliver is actually [Saturday] April 4, so that takes place at The Factory [STL in St. Louis, Missouri], and those tickets are on sale as well. And so that is going to be our perfect time to show everyone what we are, what we're capable about. And then me, obviously leaving Stand Deliver as a two-time NXT champion. That's it. That's what's going to happen. It's a perfect, it's a great week for Stand Deliver. And then we go on to WrestleMania back-to-back. It's like, that's what I like. That's what I want to experience." ...read more read less
