(KRON) -- A popular San Francisco-founded coffee chain is opening its first location in one East Bay city. Philz Coffee is having its grand opening in San Leandro on Wednesday, March 18, the chain announced in a press release. The Philz is located at 1194 E 14th St., across the street from IHOP. Th e cafe spans across 2,474 square feet with seating for up to 43 guests. The San Leandro location marks the chain's 82nd. Hours for the San Leandro Philz are from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. On Tuesday, which was the cafe's soft opening, it was open from 8 a.m. to noon. Last week, Philz Coffee teased -- or at least tried to -- where its newest location will be. The coffee company posted on Instagram, asking for guesses on where its next store will be. However, the photo had a sign that read, "Hello San Leandro." "The sign says, Hello San Leandro lol," one comment wrote. "Oop," Philz Coffee wrote in reply. Most of Philz Coffee’s locations are across California; there are six in Illinois. It has built a fanbase over the years, boasting more than 96,000 followers on Instagram. It makes the short list of must-try coffee shops when someone visits the San Francisco Bay Area.
