Overnight storms cause damage throughout the Philadelphia region
Mar 17, 2026
After a severe storm brought strong winds and a downpour of rain to the region late Monday and overnight into Tuesday, neighbors were working to deal with the fallout from the storm in the morning.
In the early hours of Tuesday, just before 5 a.m., NBC10’s camera found a car along Sorrento Road
at Conshohocken Avenue in Philly’s Wynnefield Heights section that had been trapped after a tree uprooted in the high winds and crashed down overnight.
But, there were impacts from the storm felt across the region.
In Voorhees, New Jersey, a large tree fell on Cooper Road, blocking the roadway at Rollingwood and Eastwood drives early Tuesday.
And, in Deptford, New Jersey, power lines fell onto Highland Avenue in the high winds, sparking a fire.
NBC10’s camera captured shots of fire crews extinguishing that fire overnight.
And, in Lehigh County, the roof of a home along Devonshire Road in Allentown was blown off in the high winds.
Following last night’s storm, officials across the region were telling people to stay alert during their morning commute on Tuesday as there could be additional downed trees and wires all across the region.
