RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department has warned residents of a scam involving fake court or traffic violation messages. On Monday, March 16, the Richmond Police Department posted on social media that it and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office were aware of fake messages being sent out to residents that appear to be official court or traffic violation notices. According to police, these messages are fake and urged community members not to respond, click links, scan QR codes or share personal or payment information.
