Credit: Utah Department of Public Safety Two are dead following a head-on vehicle collision Saturday near Strawberry Reservoir. At about 2:30 p.m. on March 14, a box truck was traveling eastbound on S.R. 40 near milepost 51, and a Chevy Silverado pickup was traveling westbound. The box truck left its lane of travel to the right and drove a short distance on the dirt shoulder. It reentered the roadway, overcorrected and crossed the centerline in front of the Silverado. The two vehicles collided. The cab of the box truck was disconnected from the frame and came to rest upside down. The two occupants of the Silverado sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene: driver Don C. Herbert, 39, and passenger Mitchell L. Farnsworth, 34. The driver of the box truck was transported with serious injuries to an area hospital.
