High winds across North Texas force highway closure, Grand Prix concert cancellation

High winds across North Texas on Sunday have led to highway closures and a concert cancellation out of an abundance of caution.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 1 am Monday.
Denton authorities temporarily closed I-35 East due to falling
debris. Denton police put out an update on Facebook around 2 p.m. saying that Northbound I-35 East is also closed at Bonnie Brae Street due to construction debris blowing onto the roadway.
Denton Fire Department said the lanes were being reopened in an update posted at 5:52 p.m.
Richland Hills Police Department said they’ve responded to multiple damaged power lines and fallen trees.
Sunday’s concert performances at the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington were cancelled. Officials said they cancelled the performances due to high winds and an abundance of caution for guests, artists, and staff.
The Good Ranchers Concert Series performance on Sunday was set to feature award-winning artist T-Pain and viral songwriter, producer, and DJ Disco Lines.
According to IndyCar, all on-track race activities for the Java House Grand Prix of Arlington will proceed as scheduled as long as the weather permits it. Any guests who purchased VIP concert upgrades for Sunday will be refunded and contacted directly with additional information regarding the refund process.
Six Flags Over Texas announced they’ll be closing at 7 p.m. due to high wind conditions.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 9 p.m. Sunday due to windy, dry conditions and low relative humidities.
A Tornado Watch has also been issued to the east of DFW until 9 p.m.
