The Oakland Roots opened their season at the Oakland Coliseum Saturday. This is the second year the soccer club called the Coliseum home. Some fans attended the team’s home opener for the soccer, and others said they were ready to reignite the energy behind Oakland sports. “It’s my first time. Going to a roots game, just trying to get ‘em all in, support all the Oakland teams,” Mike Davis said. Many fans were heartbroken when their Oakland raiders and athletics left the town.
