LA PORTE, Ind. (WISH) — A man was arrested while only wearing his underwear after fleeing from police late Friday night. According to a Facebook post from La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Dylan Hisick pulled a car over along US 20, west of State Road 39, for speeding. As Hisick wa s exiting his vehicle, the car he pulled over fled. In the area of US 20 and County Road 500 East, the fleeing vehicle traveled into a grass median, across both eastbound lanes, left the roadway, and crashed into a roadway sign. The driver, 28-year-old Kevin Reed and the passenger, 19-year-old Anttaniece Huey, fled on foot. The post says Hisick was able to quickly take Huey into custody, but Reed ran into a field, one-half mile east of where he crashed his car near the ‘Dogbone’ interchange. Another officer arrived and began flying his agency issue drone to spot the man and arrest him. Police say Reed “shed his clothing in the field between the arrest site and the crash scene.” Reed was taken into custody while only wearing his underwear and was arrested for the following: Resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle. Resisting law enforcement. OWI with a prior conviction. Two misdemeanor counts of an OWI. Leaving the scene. Huey was arrested for resisting law enforcement.
