Four people were injured Saturday afternoon after an explosion ripped across the front of a building in a neighborhood south of Sports Illustrated Stadium. The American Red Cross said it was helping 12 people from across seven families in the aftermath of the accident. Newark’s Dept. of Public Safety says a construction crew had been working on a water line at 86 Magazine St. when they nicked a gas line around 12:20 p.m. The rupture led to the blast across the façade of a home falling out into the street, shattering windows. Three adults and a 16-year-old were hurt but are expected to recover, officials said. Some 15 dogs were evacuated from the backyard of a house next door, according to Newark Public Safety Dir.
