INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Colts traded wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday. In exchange for the veteran receiver, the Colts acquired a sixth-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. The trade involves a swap of late-round picks in the 2026 draft. Al ong with Pittman, the Steelers received a seventh-round selection, the 230th overall pick, while the Colts received the 214th overall pick. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was among the first to report the trade earlier this week. Pittman posted to X (formerly Twitter) after the trade: “BLACK AND GOLD!!!!!!” Pittman, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 223 pounds, spent his entire professional career in Indianapolis before the trade. The Colts selected him out of USC in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 34th overall pick. During his time with the Colts, Pittman appeared in 95 career games and made 86 starts. He totaled 485 receptions for 5,254 yards and 25 touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per catch. He also contributed to the rushing attack with 11 carries for 100 yards. The receiver finished his time in Indianapolis as one of the most productive players in team history. Pittman ranks fifth in Colts history for total receptions and eighth in all-time receiving yards. Pittman also made one postseason start during his time with the team. In that contest, he recorded five receptions for 90 yards and added one carry for 11 yards. The Colts do not own their original first- and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Colts sent their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, along with wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, to the New York Jets in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner. The Colts also traded their 2026 sixth-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for cornerback Mekhi Blackmon last August.
