An officer with the Santa Rosa Police Department shot a man Thursday morning, the department said. The officer was sent at 11:16 a.m. to the 300 block of 10th Street on a report of an “unwanted/suspicious” person, according to police. “During contact with the individual, a struggle (ensu ed), and the officer was involved in a shooting,” the department said in a statement released Thursday afternoon. According to police, the man shot was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and his current condition was not given. The department did not say whether the suspect was armed.
