(KRON) -- After a two-year wait, the H Mart in Dublin is finally opening. H Mart at 7884 Dublin Blvd. is having its grand opening on Thursday, March 26, the grocer announced in a press release. Doors will open to the public at 10 a.m., and shoppers should expect special grand opening festivities, w hich will be announced at a later date. After the grand opening, H Mart in Dublin's hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Like other H Marts, the Dublin store will have a food hall that features a slew of Korean dining options. Oh K-Dog Egg Toast – Korean-style Corn dogs Toast Kyodong Noodles – Korean-style Chinese Cuisine Chodang – Korean-style soft tofu specialties bb.q Chicken – Korean-style fried and roasted chicken Daeho – Authentic Korean cuisine Tous Les Jours – French-Asian bakery and desserts The Dublin opening marks the New York-founded Korean grocery store chain's first location in the East Bay. “We know our community has been waiting for this moment, and we’re excited to finally celebrate H Mart’s opening together," Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu said in the release. "This store brings new energy, new experiences, and a place for residents to gather, explore, and enjoy. The grocer will open a multi-story "flagship" store in Fremont, across 100,000 square feet. Although no opening date is set, construction is set to begin later this year. H Mart opened its first store in 1982 in Queens, New York. It has since opened more than 100 stores across 18 different U.S. states. H Mart says it is the largest Asian supermarket chain in America and is “the pioneer of Asian food in America.” H Mart coming to Dublin would be the latest in the recent wave of Asian supermarkets opening in the Bay Area. Many of these grocery stores serve as community hubs for the large Asian American population in the region — garnering much excitement and interest when these stores open.
