(CNN)– Silicon Valley has overtaken Hollywood in one key metric video ad revenue. Last year (2025), Youtube earned more money from advertisements than Disney, Warner Brothers Discovery, Paramount, and NBC combined. That’s according to media research firm Moffett-Nathanson. There are rea lly two stories happening here. First, Youtube grew its ad revenue by more than $4 billion from 2024. At the same time, the legacy players saw their commercial sales decline by about the same amount. These metrics do not include subscription revenue.
