Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu will be honored with a public celebration in her hometown. Liu captured two gold medals at the recent Milan Cortina Olympics – one in the women’s singles figure skating event and the other in the mixed team figure skating event. The celebration rally will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Frank Ogawa Plaza outside Oakland City Hall. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and arriving early is recommended.
