All San Francisco Bay Ferry weekday routes will have schedule changes that take effect Monday, including a new early morning trip from Oakland to downtown San Francisco and major adjustments on the South San Francisco route. San Francisco Bay Ferry takes riders across the Bay on several regular r outes connecting San Francisco, Oakland, Alameda, Vallejo, South San Francisco and Richmond. Ferry officials said some adjustments are minor departure time changes to improvesystem reliability, and that all weekend schedules will remain the same except for the Vallejo and Alameda Short Hop routes. The new early morning weekday trip departing Oakland at 5:55 a.m. and arriving in downtown San Francisco at 6:20 a.m. is being added to accommodate University of California, San Francisco commuters catching a shuttle at Rincon Center to the Mission Bay campus. Changes in South San Francisco come after a study that lasted several month and included commuter feedback and a review of ridership data. San Francisco Bay Ferry officials said the feedback emphasized the importance of maintaining direct routes to and from the East Bay rather than requiring a connection in East Bay, and having a later morning trip after school drop-offs.
