(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Mar. 6)–Lincoln North Star will play for a Class A state championship at the NSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament, after the Navigators defeated two-time defending champion Millard West 46-31 Friday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena. North Star (26-1) will play either Kearney or Omaha North for the Class A title 1pm Saturday at PBA, which you can hear on KFOR.  Millard West finishes the year at 21-5. The combination of North Star’s stifling 1-3-1 zone and offensive performances from KJ Pinchon (14 points) and Ani Leu (17 points) were the difference in the game.  The Gators went on a 20-1 run that spanned late in the first half through the entire third quarter, which gave the Gators a 43-21 lead. Millard West outscored North Star 10-3 in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to rally a comeback against the Gators. Millard West’s Carly Mohatt (24) passes the ball past Lincoln North Star’s Kendall Anderson. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News) North Star managed to pull away from a close contest late in the first half off of three-pointers from Kendall Anderson and Leu for a 29-20 advantage.  Anderson scored 10 points in the victory.
