The estimated completion date for Premier Development to demolish the former ABB Inc. building is sometime in April. According to Building Commissioner Dino Capra, recent weather has slightly disrupted plans for the project. Earlier this year, Wickliffe City Council discussed the progress of the for mer ABB building project at the corner of Worden and Euclid Avenue. According to Mayor Joe Sakacs, after speaking with a Premier representative, he learned there was more asbestos than expected at the site. “The building will be coming down soon,” Sakacs said, noting that Premier will inform him when this will occur and that he will then inform City Council. While he has not looked at any designs for the proposed spec building at the Premier property, Sakacs said it will be “generic” and smaller than the current building, particularly geared toward office space. “There are interested companies,” Sakacs said. “The parcels have been split. They are now two separate parcels.” Last year, Wickliffe shared that the property would undergo asbestos abatement prior to construction of the new spec building. “Abatement of the asbestos should be wrapping up soon and we are anticipating the demolition of the current structure, and construction of the spec building in early 2026,” Sakacs said. Meanwhile, Capra also spoke to the owner of the new Circle K regarding his target opening date, which is currently in May, also pushed back due to weather. Located at 28817 Euclid Ave., what once was the Allegro Club will become the new Circle K. “It’s been the longest construction of a gas station ever, but it’s good to see that the tanks were put underground and they are there daily,” Sakacs said. ...read more read less
