(KRON) -- Detectives in Pleasanton are investigating a rash of violent home burglaries that have occurred over the past week, police announced Friday. Authorities believe the cases are related. On the evening of Friday, Feb. 27, shortly before 7 p.m., a suspect entered a home on Hansen Drive where they encountered a teenager inside, police said. The suspect sprayed the teen with pepper spray before fleeing. On the same day, authorities were notified of another residential burglary in the area. Security video at the home “showed a male suspect wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, and white shoes,” Pleasanton PD said. Dead puppy found after fire on Fremont bridge was not killed by flames, police say Another violent encounter occurred on Wednesday, March 4, when a resident on Mohr Avenue found an unknown person in his backyard. The stranger brandished a handgun and forced the man back inside his home, according to authorities. “Inside the residence, both the resident and his wife were struck by the suspect before the suspect fled the area by jumping over nearby fences,” said police.
