Students commit to careers in education through Dallas ISD PTECH
Mar 06, 2026
Nearly 200 students in the P-TECH education pathway across Dallas ISD recently received letters of intent, honoring their dedication to building careers in education.
Earning a letter of intent is an important achievement and ensures students a teaching position with Dallas ISD after they complete
a bachelor’s degree and obtain state certification, with a starting salary of at least $61,000.
Graduates may also qualify for incentives in critical shortage areas, including a $5,000 incentive for SPED self-contained positions, in addition to district benefits.
Through the P-TECH and Early College High School programs, students can explore various career pathways while taking college-level courses and earning up to 60 hours of tuition-free college credit during high school.
These programs allow participants to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree—giving them a strong head start on their college and career goals.
