HICKORY, N.C. – A young girl is dead after a crash in the Hickory’s downtown area. Hickory Police officers say 78-year-old Donald Bledsole hit seven-year-old Serene Felts and an unnamed 40-year-old man on Government Avenue SW on February 26th. Officers say the man was taken to the hospital wi th serious injuries. The little girl was taken to the hospital, too, but she died of her injuries. Bledsole was arrested this Wednesday, and charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, driving left of center, and failure to reduce speed.
