Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much. You might remember 10 days ago, when the Spurs faced the Pistons in the middle of the Rodeo Road Trip, started out slow, and adjusted to the physical defensive play of the home by playing an organized offense and disciplined defense, taking a 114-103 win on their home court, and holding Cade Cunningham to 5 field goals in 26 attempts. Stephon Castle played superior defense in Detroit, and tonight Cade will be motivated to try and prove that it was a fluke. With Castle playing on ball and Victor Wembanyama protecting the hoop, it could be another tough night for Cade, unless the home team is suffering from the fatigue that teams often experience on their first game back from a long road trip, the dreaded ‘get back’ game. I don’t think there’s a whole lot of excuses for the team being tired from playing, since the starters sat our the entire fourth quarter in the blowout against the Sixers on Tuesday night, but spending a month away from home is still tough for anyone, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a bit of a slow start tonight, which is too much of a problem, since the Spurs only seem to struggle in games where they take a big lead in the first few minutes and take the rest of the game off. The injury sheet looks pretty clean for both teams, except for Harrison Barnes, who is sitting out his second consecutive game with a sore ankle. Isaiah Stewart, who missed the previous game because of a league suspension, is back in the lineup for the Pistons tonight, and should make their defense even tougher and more physical than the last game. Beef Stew is one tough guy. Let’s GOO SPURS!! Game Prediction: Beef Stew tangles with Steph Castle, but backs down when Keldon joins the fray.
