Indy Ignite visit Valpo school INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One Valparaiso teacher’s ingenuity has sparked a newfound taste for math at Washington Township Elementary, and it’s in part thanks to the Indy Ignite’s good run in their second-ever season. The team’s middle block, Lydia Martyn, and their opposite hitter, Camryn Hannah – along with fiery-haired mascot Pepper – visited Crystal Lembke’s classroom on Tuesday morning. The reason for their visit? Ms. Lembke has been teaching her class math and statistics by using weekly updates from the Ignite’s season. So far, the team is 12-2, ranked first in Major League Volleyball. Ms. Lembke had been filming her classes and uploading them to Instagram, which the team says grabbed its attention. The Ignite say the young students already have an enthusiasm for pro volleyball, the Ignite, and their roster. Ms. Lembke and her students are invited as special guests to the Ignite’s April 12 match with the Atlanta Vibe at Fishers Event Center.
