It's drawing day for the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon! 3 ways to find out if you're in
Mar 04, 2026
Today is the day many runners have been waiting for — the day they find out if they were selected for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon.
Wednesday is Drawing Day, when the slots drawing takes place, and runners are notified of their status. And it’s a historic one. New York Road Runners set
a record with more than 240,000 applicants for the 2026 marathon.
It comes after last year’s marathon set a world record as the largest marathon ever, with nearly 60,000 finishers. The 2026 TCS NYC Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, November 1.
New York Road Runners (NYRR) says those who applied for the general drawing but didn’t get in are automatically entered into a second-chance drawing. That also happens on Wednesday.
Did I get into the NYC Marathon this year?
The TCS New York City Marathon is one of the city’s most iconic sporting events, attracting runners and spectators of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities from around the world.
Here’s how to know if you’re in, according to New York Road Runners:
Credit card charges: You will see a charge to your credit card for the race entry fee. If your credit card is charged for the full race fee, you have been accepted into the race. You may be charged before you receive an email confirming your status or before your status changes in your NYRR
Email: Acceptance emails will be sent on a rolling basis throughout the day as applicants are accepted via the drawing. Whether you have been accepted or not, you will receive an email indicating your status by the end of the day.
Status in your NYRR account: If you have been accepted into the race, your status will change to “Accepted” by the end of the day on Wednesday.
