Popular Trader Joe’s products included in expanded nationwide recall

NEW YORK (WPIX) -- A recall that initially impacted over 3 million pounds of food products sold nationwide in stores, including Trader Joe's, has been expanded.
Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc., announced the expanded recall over concerns that products may be contaminated with glass.

h, the Portland, Oregon-based company recalled nearly 3.4 million pounds of frozen chicken fried rice products sold at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday that the recall now impacts over 36 million pounds of food products produced between Oct. 21, 2024, and Feb. 26, 2026.
The recall includes Trader Joe's Chicken Fried Rice with stir-fried rice, vegetables, seasoned dark chicken meat, and eggs, and Trader Joe's Chicken Shu Mai.
The products have best buy dates between March 5, 2026, and Oct. 23, 2026.

The FSIS states that there have been no confirmed injuries from consumption.
Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
