Dunbar Community Center unveils new features

Mayor Linda Gorton officially reopened Dunbar Community Center today, celebrating the completion of a major, two-phase renovation.
Once home to historic Dunbar High School, the community center is a lively neighborhood hub, housing all kinds of activities and Parks and Recreation offices.
“We are
so excited to officially unveil all these amazing updates to this iconic building,” Gorton said. “Today is a testament to the enduring legacy of a building that has served as an important place to build community across many generations. As we honor the legacy of those who taught and attended school here, we are also excited about the opportunities this center will offer people of all ages for many years to come.”
Gorton was joined by 1st District Councilmember Tyler Morton and Councilmember-at-Large James Brown.
