SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Cheers rang out as people waved Iranian, Israeli, and United States flags at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza near Harry Bridges Plaza on Sunday. The crowd gathered to celebrate the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Among those celebrating were Ka
myar and Ameen Rouhani, both Iranian men.
“Khamenei’s dead!" Rouhani said. "So we’re all happy."
On Feb. 28, President Donald Trump announced Khamenei’s death, saying it gave Iranians their “greatest chance” to “take back” their country.
“I’ve never experienced such a level of happiness," said Kamyar. "Finally, after 47 years, the supreme leader was killed by the U.S. and Israel coalition attack; we owe them, we owe these two countries, we owe President Trump."
