(KRON) -- A Silver Alert has been issued in Alameda County for an at-risk, missing 69-year-old man, according to California Highway Patrol. Merced Vargas was last seen on Friday at approximately 10 a.m. at the intersection of Meekland Avenue and Paseo Grande in San Lorenzo. Vargas is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black hat, light colored coat, blue jeans and blue-and-white shoes. He is believed to be traveling on foot. Merced Vargas, 69, was reported missing on Feb. 27. according to CHP and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. CHP has activated the alert on behalf of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
