Motorcyclist dies after car detaches from tow truck in Philly, police say

A motorcyclist died after a car detached from a tow truck in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia on Saturday night, according to Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace.
The crash occurred at the 4000 block of Frankford Avenue at around 4:15 p.m., Pace said.
When police arrived at the s
cene, they found that a car that detached from a tow truck and began rolling down the opposing lane, causing a head-on collision with a motorcycle, Pace said.
The unidentified man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:49 p.m., Pace said.
The driver of the tow truck fled the scene, but police said they were able to identify the tow company through surveillance video. Representatives from the company did come to the scene, but the driver remains wanted by police.
Pace later told NBC10’s Johnny Archer that the tow truck believed to be involved was found at the 1000 block of East Lycoming Street in Philly’s Juniata Park neighborhood, but the driver was not found with the vehicle.
