Cher’s adult son Elijah Blue Allman was allegedly arrested Friday for assault and trespassing at a prep school in New Hampshire. Allman, 49, was booked into the Merrimack County Jail and charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal threatening and dis orderly conduct, Concord police sources told TMZ. As of Saturday afternoon, Allman’s name could not be found in the New Hampshire Department of Corrections’ inmate records. TMZ said he was released from jail on his own recognizance, and will be arraigned at a future date. Police told the outlet that officers were called to the St. Paul’s School in Concord shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday for reports of an unwanted guest — identified as Allman — “causing a disturbance and acting belligerently” in the dining hall. It’s unclear why he was on the property or if he has any connection to the school. Allman’s arrest comes roughly eight months after he was hospitalized in Southern California following a reported overdose on an unknown substance. Authorities at the time said they’d responded to a residence in Landers for a “male subject acting erratically.” When deputies arrived, Allman was evaluated by emergency medical personnel and later taken to a hospital, police said in a statement, adding that officers also “located drugs inside the home.” In late 2023, Allman’s Oscar-winning mom filed for emergency conservatorship of her son, alleging that he was unable to manage his own finances due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues. After Cher was twice denied a conservatorship in early 2024, she and Allman agreed that May to at least temporarily suspend the legal proceedings. The agreement was intended to help them “privately and confidentially” resolve the matter, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight. Allman, the son of the late singer Gregg Allman, has publicly spoken about his ongoing struggles with substance abuse, revealing he’s been using drugs since he was around 11 years old. He told ET in a 2014 interview that he started with marijuana and ecstasy before turning to harder drugs like heroin and opiates. “I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that’s when you turn to those kind of drugs,” he told the outlet. “[Heroin] kind of saved me … If I didn’t have that at that point, I don’t know what I would have done …You may jump off a bridge.” The Daily News has reached out to Cher’s representative for comment. ...read more read less
