Tanner Bibee gave up three runs in the first inning of the Guardians’ 7-5 loss to the White Sox on Feb. 28 in the Cactus League. After getting the first batter to fly out, Bibee gave up a home run and two doubles to three consecutive batters. He also threw a wild pitch that allowed a run to score later in the inning. Bibee recovered and pitched 1-2-3 innings in the second and third. He has a 5.40 ERA in five innings over two starts this spring. Ralphy Velazquez had two doubles and two runs scored. Left fielder George Valera hit an RBI double and is batting .417 in the first week of spring training games. The Guardians will field a split squad on March 1.
