Drew Wyers had a great debut for the Mississippi State baseball team. In a win over Alcorn State, Wyers, who played at Northern Burlington High, and has had stops at Stetson, Manhattan and Bryant, was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, three singles and an RBI. Wyers arrived in Starkville, Miss., afte r an America East Player of the Year season at Bryant in which he hit .407 with 11 homers, 11 doubles and 50 RBI. No. 4 Mississippi State is off to a 9-0 start and Wyers will be a key utility man as it looks to continue its run as a perennial national title contender. Wyers has appeared in four of those nine games, starting three of them, and is 5-for-11 with a double. Saker Gets Game Winner Jack Saker (Notre Dame) delivered a single to center field to send home Jason Janesko and give St. Joseph’s a 12-inning 5-4 win over Sacramento State. It was Saker’s only hit of the game but it was certainly a big one. Carson Applegate (Hun) also had a base hit for St. Joe’s. Rivera NJAC Pitcher of the Week Noah Rivera (Steinert) was named the first NJAC Pitcher of the Week of the 2026 season following a dominant week out of the bullpen for No. 4 Kean. Rivera tossed 3.1 scoreless innings across two appearances while striking out five batters and allowing just two hits. He picked up the win in relief against Drew, holding the Rangers scoreless over 2.0 innings with four strikeouts. Rivera followed that performance with another scoreless outing of 1.1 innings against Alvernia, finishing the week with a .200 opponents’ batting average. Garcia-Beltran Sets New TCNJ and NJAC Record Lucia Garcia-Beltran (Hopewell Valley) was named the NJAC Track Athlete of the Week  after recording school and conference records at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The senior clocked a 7.48 in the 60-meter finals to set new NJAC and TCNJ record while posting the No. 1 time in Division III this season and the fifth-fastest time in Division III history. She posted a 24.37 in the 200-meter prelims to establish a new school record, then reset that mark with a 24.30 in the finals. Her 24.30 ranks No. 4 in Division III this season and 10th all-time in Division III history, and also stands as the top mark in both the NJAC and Metro Region. Evaldi Named Diver of the Week Beth Evaldi (Hun) has been named the final NJAC Diver of the Week of the regular season following runner-up finishes on both boards at Saturday’s USMMA Memorial Invite. The senior posted scores of 235.85 on the one-meter and 258.60 on the three-meter, maintaining her position as the NJAC’s top-scoring diver on both boards this season. Eilbacher Landmark Athlete of the Week Lance Eilbacher (Notre Dame) went 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run, a triple, three RBIs, four runs scored and four stolen bases in a pair of games for Catholic to earn the Landmark honor. He was 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored to help the Cardinals pick up a 9-7 victory over No. 10 Salve Regina. It was the second long ball of the junior’s career. Eilbacher followed up with another three-hit performance against Dickinson, including a triple, where he also went 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. Eilbacher’s two three-hit games were the first two multi-hit performances of his career and his six hits currently rank third in the conference through the first two weekends of action. He is also one of just five players in the conference thus far to record a home run in the early stages of the season. *** Baseball: Through four games Michael Chiaravallo (Hun) is batting .333 with a home run for Bucknell. …Brendan Buecker (Notre Dame) is batting .273 for Monmouth with three RBI. …Jayden Shin (Hopewell Valley) had a base hit on Cornell’s opening game. Former Hun All-Trentonian player McGwire Tuffy is a member of the Cornell coaching staff. …Matt Goldenbaum (Holy Ghost/Fairless Hills resident) pitched a scoreless inning for Creighton in a game with UC San Diego. …Matt Mays (Neshaminy) was named the MAC Commonwealth Conference Pitcher of the Week after earning the save in Alvernia’s win over No. 4 Kean with three scoreless innings of relief. Men’s Basketball: Terrance Jones (Patrick School/Trenton resident) had 21 points for Manhattan in a win over Niagara. …Donavin Crawford (Nottingham) had 18 points and Amir Lane (Burlington Township/Trenton resident) had seven points and eight rebounds in Georgian Court’s win over Wilmington. …Andrew DaCosta (Bordentown) had nine points for Cairn in a win over Penn State Brandywine. …Brian Herbert (Robbinsville) had 16 points in Catholic’s loss in the Landmark Conference Tournament to Wilkes. …Kenneth Rankin (Ewing) had 21 points and eight rebounds and Naire Preston (Ewing) had 14 points in Centenary’s loss to Gwynedd Mercy in the America East Tournament. Women’s Basketball: Te’Yala Delfosse (Ewing) had nine points and seven rebounds in No.8 Michigan’s overtime win against No. 13 Ohio State. …Kayla McCrea (Allentown) had seven points in Franklin Marshall’s regular season finale against Dickinson. …Brianna McFadden (Conwell-Egan) had a career high 21 points for Gwynedd-Mercy in a win over Centenary. …Simone Pintinalli (Notre Dame) was named to the Liberty League Winter All-Academic team from Ithaca. …Caitlin Landgraf (Allentown) had eight points and six rebounds in Misericordia’s season finale win over DeSales. …Izzy Diaz (Notre Dame) had seven rebounds for Salisbury in a Coast-2-Coast Conference Tournament win over Regent.
