The U.S. Department of State elevated its travel advisory for Lebanon to the highest level on Monday, warning Americans not to travel to the Middle East nation. It also ordered non-emergency government personnel and their family members to leave the capital, Beirut.The Level 4 advisory cites risks i ncluding crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, unexploded landmines, and the potential for armed conflict.
