9 Navy sailors tied to street gangs arrested after assault at house party: SDSO
Feb 25, 2026
Ten people, nine of whom are Navy sailors, face several felony charges following their arrests in connection with an assault at a house party in Jamul last year, officials said Wednesday.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service conducted a joint o
peration on Tuesday, which led to the arrests of Navy sailors Demario Ricks, Isaiah Pearson, Answer Adams, Lawrence Hodge, Jaharai Wiggins, Robert Green, Gary Cannon, Eric Frierson and Timothy Blair, according to the sheriff’s office. Ksahno Isles, a civilian, was also arrested.
The arrests come about nine months after deputies responded to a report of an assault at a home in the 14000 block of Proctor Valley Road on May 3, 2025. While responding, deputies learned the suspects were carrying firearms.
One of the victims, who went to a nearby fire station to seek medical help, told deputies they were assaulted by a group of people and pistol-whipped with a gun. They were taken to the hospital with major injuries, SDSO said.
Of the 10 suspects, nine of them were enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and many of them were associated with criminal street gangs, according to the sheriff’s office. They were all booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
The arrests were made at Naval Air Station North Island, Naval Base San Diego, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and a home in the city of San Diego, authorities said.
A spokesperson for the Navy said: “The Navy will not tolerate Sailors actively participating in criminal gang activity. Such behavior and affiliation is contrary to good order and discipline, harmful to unit cohesion, and a violation of the oath of service.”
Also recovered during the operation were five firearms and $20,000 in cash, according to SDSO.
All are expected to appear in court to face charges on March 3, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office said.
