Cyclist who collided with Arlington school bus dies, driver resigns

A man who was thrown from his bicycle after colliding with a school bus last week has died, Arlington Police say.
Police said 67-year-old William Roberts was riding his bicycle along the Interstate 20 Frontage Road and was approaching Treecrest Drive, west of Little Road, when the collision occur

Roberts, who police said was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bike and was hospitalized at Medical City Arlington in critical condition. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said Roberts died on Feb. 19.
The bus driver, who stopped after the collision, later resigned. Four students who were on the bus at the time were unharmed.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
The area along I-20 near the intersection is currently under construction as part of the massive Southeast Connector project.
