NJSIAA Ice Hockey Tournaments: Robbinsville/Allentown cruises to firstround victory

WEST WINDSOR — The Robbinsville/Allentown ice hockey team started the Public South Co-op Tournament with a resounding victory.
Jake Lachance knocked in two more goals to bring his state-leading total to 38 and the second-seeded Ravens routed 15th-seeded Millburn, 6-0, in a first-round game on Wedn
esday afternoon at the Mercer Skating Center.
The Ravnens (19-5) scored twice in each period to steadily pull away from Millburn (7-8-2).
James Morino also scored twice and Cole Martinez and Thomas Krause had one each for the CVC champion. Tyler Wagner turned aside 12 shots to get the easy shutout.
Robbinsville/Allentown hosts either seventh-seeded Marlboro or 10th-seeded South Brunswick in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

WEST ORANGE — The 13th-seeded Tigers (9-13-1) fell behind after the fourth-seeded Red Devils (13-10-1) scored three times in the first period and couldn’t dig out of the hole even though they tallied three goals of their own in the second period to get back into it.
Dylan Hagt, Anders Hedin and Samuel Gibb were the goal scores for Princeton. Hedin’s goal helped him finish with a team-best 46 points on 13 goals and 33 assists.

WEST ORANGE — Fred Ringblom rung up a hat trick and the ninth-seeded Panthers (5-15) advanced in an upset over the eighth-seeded Pirates (10-12) in a first-round game played on Tuesday.
James Winkler and Alexsandro Trantalis also scored for PDS, which faces top-seeded Delbarton in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Marshall Matyszczak and Filip Kacmarsky were credited with three assists each and Drew Picker stopped 36 shots.
