Feb 25, 2026
ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man accused in a high-profile Rockcastle County kidnapping case appeared in federal court this week in London, where a judge scheduled the next steps in the case.
According to federal court records, Christian Alexander Delgado appeared Tuesday for an
initial appearance and arraignment before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in London. Court minutes show Delgado waived a formal reading of the indictment and entered a not guilty plea.
Court records show that defense attorneys asked the court to consider declaring the case “complex,” a motion that remains under advisement.
The court also granted the government’s request for detention, meaning Delgado will remain in custody pending further orders.
The court also confirmed that victims’ rights requirements are being followed.
Federal court documents show a jury trial is currently scheduled to begin May 4, 2026, in London, with an estimated length of three days.
Delgado was previously arrested in Maryland and extradited to Kentucky to face both state and federal charges connected to the case involving the 13-year old.
The investigation and court proceedings remain ongoing.
