A fatal shooting Monday night on Bethel Island is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded at about 8:49 p.m. to a report of a shooting on the 3200 block of Dutch Slough Road, authorities said. Deputies arrived on the scene a nd found a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the street. Deputies initiated life-saving measures until the fire department arrived. The man was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time, and this remains an open investigation.
