COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Students in one Midlands school district will see more locally grown foods on their plate thanks to a new state program called Certified SC Cafeteria. Officials with Lexington-Richland District Five say the program gives schools the opportunity to expose students to fresh produce and educate them on where it is grown. Lexington-Richland Five is one of 67 districts participating in the program throughout the state.
